Who Are We

Hi, we are Shane & Joylyn. Just as I was exiting my teenage years, and officially starting out in life as an adult. The advice I received was to get an education, work for the next 35 to 40 years, contribute to the company pension plan and, at the same time try to become somebody. During your working stage of life, you buy the house, you then upgrade it to something bigger and better. At some point, you stop trying to be the Jones on the block and you then become them. Then, after 40 plus years of working, but hopefully less, if you are lucky, you retire and enjoy life, but only if you still have your health, and of course a company pension plan.

That was us until one morning when Joylyn and I woke up and we both realized that the life we were living, working every day of the week to keep up a certain lifestyle on a payment plan, wasn't for us, anymore. So, with some planning and guidance, we downsized our lifestyle, sold off the rental properties and business which led to over time us selling off everything we owned to move aboard in search of freedom and our dream lifestyle, as we couldn't find it in North America. This dream life consisted of living a simple lifestyle in a small beachside community with a tropical climate, us waking up in the morning and thinking about what we want to do, instead of thinking about what we have to do, and just living life to the fullest

After essentially walking away from the American Dream and lifestyle. This website represents us Living Life, Living Free, and Living Our Dream of a life of freedom

In all of our content. We will talk about everything we did and experienced, both the good and the bad, with the intent of helping you live a better, simpler, and free lifestyle

Our mission

We're on a mission to not only help change the way people think but also how they view living a certain lifestyle in general. We feel that it's marketed and promoted a lifestyle on a payment. Yes, you can drive a nice car or buy the latest iPhone just because they relocated some buttons, but why.

Due to corporate marketing, you can have anything you want on a payment. We lived that lifestyle, and it was a life of misery.

But does always having the latest and greatest on a payment make you happy. That's the question we asked ourselves back in 2018, and then we took action, and so can you.

Our vision

We believe it's important to create content t that has a positive influence on people’s lives, especially when it comes to improving one's quality of life, through life choices. As we age. We tend to get stuck in life and trying to change your life for the better becomes harder and harder especially with the high cost of living, and job insecurity. Chasing a dream life can feel impossible to achieve. I feel it doesn't matter what stage of life you are at. Living debt-free and slightly below your means can and is life-changing. It was for us, and I was in my fifties.
